wake up….

Born of Mexican immigrants in Phoenix, Arizona, Victor Mariachi is on a mission to bring realness and vulnerability back to Hip Hop. He's performed at SXSW and all over the inner city of Atlanta at places like 529, Union EAV, and The Music Room, but his journey to establishing his name in the game is just beginning.
Influenced by artists like: Tupac, Nas, Eminem, Mos Def, Marilyn Manson, Kendrick Lamar and Marvin Gaye, Victor comes from a hardworking family of six who he helps financially while pursuing his music career. Although Victor had a sheltered childhood, he's lived everywhere from  Guerrero, Mexico, to Alberta, Canada and has experienced both the best and the worst that life has to offer. And it's these life experiences that inspire Victor to create his unique brand of politically, socially and culturally driven music that effortlessly intermingles old school hip hop and new school rap by using heavy bass elements and lo-fi instrumentals.
When Victor Mariachi rhymes he speaks from the heart and fills his lyrics with a mix of sadness, anger and happiness. Oftentimes he uses his voice to raise awareness about the struggles of Mexican Americans, giving his perspective on topics like immigration and the role that Mexican people play in American culture. In his words, he's "young, brown and articulate," and doesn't shy away from that.
Victor released his first mixtape in 2012, and has since dropped two additional mixtapes, one EP and one full-length album. He is currently in the process of wrapping up his latest project.
